Day 194-purple bunny

Tonight its another rabbit plushie, but this time in purple.

I had some problems with coverage on the screen print and had to touch it up with a paint brush afterwards.

I have used some purple drill for the front and some polka dot cotton poplin on the back, both from Lincraft
cut him out leaving approx 4-5cms all the way around
 hip n hop (before stuffing)
 hip and hop (after stuffing)
 backsides
 they are actually quite big
 and very nice to hug

Day 193-printed, plushie, patchwork... sheepy

Following on from the printed rabbit plushie... we have the printed sheepie plushie.

print one sheep onto some bright green drill from Lincraft
 baaaaaaaaa
after he dries iron the print to seal it
and then cut around the print leaving 4-5cms extra
The backing fabric is some cute patch printed cotton poplin from Lincraft
 ready to be stuffed
I love the contrast of the black print on the bright green, which looks really modern,
and then the patchwork print on the back.
ready for hugs...

Day 159-marilyn is a star

Okay, so i havent had a chance to yet finish the stars and stripes cushion...
Tonight I am continuing with the "stars" theme with my marilyn doll. I did start her to be part of the "American" tour but she never got the chance to be featured, so tonight she makes her debut as the "stars and stripes" theme continues.... I figured she is a "star" and the "stars and stripes" theme makes us think of america... (and i have had a big day at work and have no time to finish the cushion... so here goes)

printed marilyn face, sketch of body for the pattern
cut out
stitch
I have stitched her signature to her behind...
marilyn with the american crew
okay so she is not quite finished either...
I will get back to these last two projects over the weekend, but for now I am super busy!!!!!
craft out crafty stars!!!

Day 122-Celebrating Obama

It seems only fitting that today's craft is my "Obama" doll (as most of America seems to be out on the streets celebrating the death of bin laden) which Obama announced earlier this evening.
Today has been the highlight of the trip so far, Miss Bianca and hired bikes and leisurely rode across the golden gate bridge and over to the seaside town of sausalito. The weather was perfect, hot with a light breeze... see pics below,

we caught the cable car to pier 39
we were entertained by some colourful street "craft" DIY sign making along the way

saw the famous zig zag lombart st from afar
 rode across the golden gate
the views from the golden gate were beautiful
admired some upcycled handbags in sausalito made from american number plates...
I couldnt decide if i liked them or not?? judging by the rest of the shops in sausalito ("nanna glamour" style)
I think not so much, but it was the most interesting crafty thing I found.
we returned to san fran where the talk on the street was "osama bin laden is dead"
so very fitting we celebrate with my "obama" craft!
below is a picture i took when i was making the doll
cutting him out...
In america (proof of life style with the newspaper in the background)
 on Miss Bianca's kitchen wall
I think he turned out super cool, I am not that into politics, but I have read his book and think he seems like his heart is in the right place! Bless him!

Day 112-Groomy Doll

Today has been busy with wedding prep for tomorrow, people everywhere and last minute dress stitching.
I have added some little tulle sleeves to the wedding dress (the real one not the doll one) but of course I cant show this today because the wedding dress cannot be exposed until tomorrow!
So today's craft is the second doll, the groomy doll, see pics below...
