Day 363-wedding prep

Tonight's craft was extremely practical and timely with the count down to my wedding (only 30 days away!!)

Table numbers, place names and bonbonniere's...
I decided to combine the place name's and bonbonniere's into one by gifting a "prop stick"with each guests name attached.
First I drew up these little flags on illustrator and added the names.
next I cut each out with a stanley knife (all 85 of them!!)
and then folded them in half
finally attaching them with the glue gun...
here are just a few of the bonbonniere/ place name's complete, these will sit flat on the centre of each plate (and I thought would act as a good ice breaker for people sitting on the same table who may not know each other as they make for great photos ops)
I used the bird graphic from my "tea towel invite" from day 325 on the table number cards
all this teamed with the table centre pieces from day 327 (and its all starting to get very "matchy matchy")
All I need now is some bunting flags to top off the ultimate in "wedding craft chic"

Day 112-Groomy Doll

Today has been busy with wedding prep for tomorrow, people everywhere and last minute dress stitching.
I have added some little tulle sleeves to the wedding dress (the real one not the doll one) but of course I cant show this today because the wedding dress cannot be exposed until tomorrow!
So today's craft is the second doll, the groomy doll, see pics below...

Day 111 Bridal Doll

Yay I am on holidays!!!
This afternoon my fiancee and I flew up to Newcastle in preparation for my sister's wedding over the weekend. So of course tonight's craft is wedding themed (and took much longer than one night to make!)
Its a doll of the bride!
I took a photo of my sister and had it printed on fabric at a digital printers and then turned it into a doll, see the process below...and stay tuned for tomorrow night, yep its the groomy doll!

Day 105-"just married" flags

Tonight I got home from work early and thought "Great! i can get stuck into my craft for the night" but this "seemingly simple project!" has taken me until NOW 11.38pm!!
Its hard when I am trying to make new things all the time because with every new project you realise what you have done wrong, or how you would do it differently next time (but that doesnt help when you have to create something new the next day...) its certainly a challenge!
At least what i have finished has turned out really great! I love it, I want it at my wedding!
see the process below...

Cut out triangles

create a template to place all the text (so it sits in a neat line)

I bought these felt letters precut in a pack with sticky adhesive on the back.
After all the hand cutting I did for the letters on the "pig" and "whale" projects I thought these were the answer to my prayers!!.......
until the sewing machine would not sew thru them! the needle kept getting stuck because of the sticky adhesive and I had to HAND STITCH them all!!! aghhh!
all the stitching done
attach altogether with cotton webbing
after all the hard work...it does look great!

Day 104- garter take two

Okay, so I took my mum's advice and tried again.
Garter's are really not my thing... but if i had to wear one, maybe it would be something like this...

yo yo maker
 put fabric inside
 stitch
 cut
materials, cotton webbing, vintage striped bias binding, gingham check ribbon
 yo yo made
 is that better?
less bling, more craft

Day 103-paper flower table feature

Okay, so last night was not my finest craft moment... my mum told me it was the "tackiest thing ive ever made!" ha ha ha! so i might have to have another crack at the garter project! I have to say its very hard to make elastic, frills and lace, look good on the upper thigh!
Tonight's project has turned out really sweet, so hopefully you can all forgive me! see the process below...

tissue paper
fold all four pieces in half length ways
 fold as a fan
cut the ends as a curve
In the centre wrap wire around the fan to secure in place
and then open out the paper into a circle
slowly peel each piece of paper up into the centre being careful not to tear it
by layering the different colours when you fold the fan you also end up with a gradient effect at the end

 on the table
hmmm imagine these on all your wedding tables...
