Day 176-Guest Blogger Laura Day

Its Manic Monday again! and time for another guest blogger!
Laura Day from learn 2 screen print workshops is sharing her recipe for a printed dog hoodie, see the process below...

miss laura and myself on the deck with our red and black craft projects!
would you like to learn screen printing?

If you live in Melbourne and would like to learn screen printing then I highly recommend enrolling in one of Laura's classes. The two main things I loved about her workshop was, firstly the relaxed and inspiring art studio atmosphere and secondly you leave the class with finished projects to take home. In the "beginners course" you leave with your very own printed tote bag, a small collection of printed gift cards and if you have time a printed t-shirt! Check out her website on the link below
http://learn2screenprint.com.au/

For "365 days of craft" followers laura is offering a special deal! 10% off her "beginners course" for the first five people to call (just mention my blog when you call to make a booking)
Laura can be contacted on 0405 469 296.

Day 175-sunny sunday printing with miss laura day

Today was a lovely sunny sunday and I had a guest come to play craft!
Miss Laura Day from "learn 2 screen print" bought her mobile printing press over to my house and we spent the afternoon sketching, cutting, printing, chatting and eating!

You may recall I featured Laura's printing workshops on my blog back in february http://www.365daysofcraft.com/2011/02/screen-printing-day-out.html

Since then Laura and I have caught up a few times and it was Laura's turn to play craft at my house. Amongst all the chatting we did manage to complete a project each, so tonight my bearded neck warmer is featured below and tomorrow Laura's printed doggie jumper will be featured for the "Monday night guest blogger slot".

Day 174, resource rescue and afternoon winter bbq

Today Andee and I went on an adventure to check out the "resource rescue" centre in bayswater.
This recycling centre has been running for over 20 years now and has recently relocated to the outer melbourne suburb of bayswater (just 5 minutes drive from our home).
Located in an industrial estate this warehouse collects off-cuts from factories and companies around Melbourne, anything from cardboard, foam, bottles, frames, fabric, wire, metal, plastic, tape.... its endless, a crafters dream! They supply a large amount of pre-school's with craft supplies and you can fill a garbage bag for $25 bucks!!! check it out at http://www.discountcraftsupplies.com.au/
I think this will become my new favourite shop!

the resource rescue website
 some pics inside the warehouse...
 and another
as for todays craft its a little lame...
we were heading to a friend's birthday for a lazy saturday afternoon BBQ
and I had a bag of clothes for their 2 year old daughter, so I made a big bow for the gift bag
using some newspaper...
i actually ended up sticking it together in the car, "HA MOBILE CRAFT"

at the winter afternoon BBQ I was admiring their laden down citrus trees!!
such tiny trees and soooo much fruit! (lemons and mandarins)
and a little afternoon fire was in order for the chilly winter day

Day 172-mr moustache to you sir

Tonight I have trialled making a few of the moustache sticks out of felt and some pieces of dowl.
I know most of you have probably seen these sticks on the net but they are still great!
If you have read earlier posts I am thinking of making sticks like these as my name place settings on the dinner tables at my wedding. After making a few of these now I am considering making the bulk in a different way as the felt cut outs take quite abit of time and its hard to make them stiff enough to stay in the right spot on the stick without drooping. I am now thinking of possibly just printing these images onto thick cardboard and attaching these to sticks with a hot glue gun. After all they just need to really survive the night and provide some fun for the guests taking pics at the tables. I like the idea of not just using lips and moustache's but also beards, glasses, funny noses etc...
